CARRI A BEER, AIA, NCARB, phius assoc., cpd
Carri is an architect and permaculture designer whose purpose is to integrate the built and the natural environment and spark elemental returning to her clients.
Carri received her Master of Architecture from Texas Tech University in 1998 with a focus on sustainable design. She became a LEED accredited professional in 2001, a registered architect in Maryland in 2002, Certified Permaculture Designer in 2017 with an Advanced Social Permaculture Certificate in 2020, and earned a certificate in Co-housing Design in 2023. Carri was the consultant on several of the region’s first LEED buildings, the co-facilitator of the Baltimore Living Building Collaborative, co-chair of Baltimore AIA COTE for five years, and architect of the region’s first Net Zero, Foam Free Passive Houses. She is the author of A Field Guide to Radical Rewilding, self-published in Spring 2023 and creator of A Homeowner’s Field Guide to Radical Regenerative Retrofits, launched Summer of 2023.
Carri collaborates with building and home owners, communities, artists, energy consultants, developers, teachers and farmers to create holistic, radical and regenerative homes, community buildings, and landscapes.
The home office is in Baltimore, Maryland but our work extends throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Carri is licensed in MD, MA and VA. Common Ecology Architecture, LLC holds membership in Baltimore AIA, the PHIUS Alliance, and NCARB.
